Day Two: Recap
Right now, in Mansfield, Ohio at the hospitable home of Ryan Cates.
We rolled into Cleveland on Day Two to see the sights in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
"It was pretty cool, but there was a helluva lot of info. Too much for one day, in My Opinion."
-Pete
"I especially liked all of the background info on the musicians - childhood drawings, term papers, et cetera. It was thorough."
-Ferrett
"This trip would be a lot easier if we hadn't bought that stupid Louisiana Purchase."
-Ryan
"It was really cold, I enjoyed the architecture, and there was something good about John Lennon that I learned, but I forget what it is."
-Zach
"One of my favorite parts about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was not Rock and Roll at all, but instead the precursors - the variety of local idioms that Rock and Roll brought together at its beginning and the music just outside of rock that continued to influence its trajectory. I think modern rock could use an injection of something more elemental."
-Jason
After the evening drive to Mansfield, we met Ryan and David Bishop (Kenyon friends) at El Campestre, a tasty Mexican restaurant with tasty Mexican food. At Ryan's home, we were introduced to Maggie, a dog who wheezes like a person. Ryan made unsuccessful attempts at stuffing his sister's cat into a jug and a boot. We enjoyed Great Lakes beer from Cleveland - the first sample in the Beer-From-Every-State initiative suggested by Jason. Dino-Pong ensued and then sleep.
Now our journey continues along the winedark lakes. Chicago is the next stop.

Hey guys, Hurrah for you having a blog and thereby allowing me (and others) to live vicariously. Dtown is not nearly as much fun without you, but I'm getting to catch up on the Battlestar Galactica DVDs... alas, I am such a nerd. Good luck and watch out for the godless killing machines, a.k.a BEARS.
The trip certainly seems to be off to an auspicious start. Love the blog and the pictures as an opportunity to monitor your progress and share in the fun (vicariously, as Dana commented). I'm glad that my son learned something about cooking during his last two summers at Amherst. Have fun and be safe.
